Words cannot describe this land of breathtaking natural beauty, Mayan heritage and colonial history. Imagine an amazing Guatemala vacation, where you will experience 33 volcanoes, 19 different ecosystems, picturesque Spanish colonial villages, mystical Mayan archaeology, magical lakes, rivers, mountains and tropical rainforests, the turquoise Caribbean sea and deep blue Pacific... and all this in an area the size of Tennessee. This is Guatemala, the heart of the Mayan world - a country that receives more than 800,000 visitors a year, and regarded as one of the most beautiful places in the world.

This charming Mesoamerican country neighboring Mexico, Belize, Salvador and Honduras is relatively small but has a lot to offer for tourists. Its shores are washed by both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. In Guatemala you can find many Mayan temples, pyramids hidden in the jungle, majestic volcanoes, Indians in the most colorful clothes and incredibly rich history. The country has the ideal climate too, original forests, colonial towns and it offers services for both demanding travelers as well as for backpackers. All this brings more and more visitors to Guatemala, visitors desiring to experience an exotic country, adventure and the mystery of Mayan civilization. The best time to travel to Guatemala is the dry season. It is said that the country is never more beautiful than between November and March but Guatemala, also called “the Country of Eternal Spring” is very hospitable in any season. Let’s discover its beauty together, let’s experience its unique atmosphere, let’s feel the energy of this country and its people, have the firsthand experience of the jungle, lakes or volcanoes…

You can select your tour from our few regular itineraries or we can prepare a circuit which will reflect your wishes regarding the places you would like to visit, what to see and experience. We will also take your time availability into consideration. Please find an example circuit with  arrival at and departure from Guatemala City.

Schedule:

1st day: arrival in Guatemala City, transfer to La Antigua, staying overnight

2nd day: the whole day spent in La Antigua, one of the most beautiful jewels of the colonial era within all Latin America located among three volcanos – Agua, Fuego and Acatenango, with the famous Plaza Central and its remarkable fountain, palaces, the cathedral, splendid churches La Merced and San Francisco and the monastery Santo Domingo, sightseeing around the city. Staying overnight

3rd day: in the morning the possibility to go on an optional half day trip / undemanding climb up to the top of the active volcano Pacaya (2600m) Free afternoon, visit to the museum of chocolate or the museum of jade, looking around the evening city, staying overnight in  La Antigua

4th day: In the morning departure from La Antigua to Chichicastenango, a visit to a local Indian market, looking around the town and its vicinity. In the afternoon transfer, return La Antigua, staying overnight

5th day: In the morning departure to the lake Atitlán which can be found in a town Panajachel, the possibility of an optional boat ride on the lake Atitlán to reach San Pedro, a small village located below volcanoes, in the afternoon transfer back to La Antigua

6th day: In the afternoon transfer from La Antigua to Guatemala City and flight to Flores, staying overnight

7th day: the whole day trip to Tikal to visit famous Mayan pyramids which have been listed as a cultural heritage sight by UNESCO (Templo IV with its 70 meters is the tallest Mayan pyramids), free afternoon, swimming in the lake Petén Itzá, overnight in Flores

8th day: free day, an optional afternoon trip to less visited mystical Mayan pyramids in YaxHa with a view on the sunset from the top of the pyramid Templo de las Manos Rojas

9th day: In the morning transport by a minibus to Rio Dulce followed by a boat ride on the lake Izabal (largest lake of Guatemala) to Livingston, a town, which has a unique atmosphere due to the mixture of Rastaman and Garifuna people’s cultures. Return to Rio Dulce, staying overnight at a hotel by the lake

10th day: In the morning departure from Rio Dulce, short stopover in Quiriguá (famous for its Mayan stelae) and transfer to Copán in Honduras

11th day: In the morning visit to the world famous Mayan pyramids in Copán (UNESCO) with the staircase containing the longest known Mayan hieroglyphic inscription. In the afternoon transfer to La Antigua (or Guatemala City)

12th day: In the morning transfer to the airport and departure to your country
